Getting to Know Miss Tammy Grove, WM's Intervention Specialist
Miss Grove, a proud 1979 graduate of Red Lion Area School District, completed her undergraduate and graduate work in Elementary Education at Millersville State College (now Millersville University). After teaching in a neighboring school district for 20 years and receiving her Administrative Certificate at Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College), Miss Grove came to RLASD in 2006 to serve as principal of Clearview Elementary and then Locust Grove Elementary. For the past three years, she has enjoyed the role of Project Pride Coordinator, connecting with many RLASD students and families, collaborating with community organizations, coordinating several programs within the District, and leading the Elementary Counselors and Intervention Specialists. At Windsor Manor, Miss Grove serves as the Intervention Specialist and teaches social skill lessons to classes each cycle.
Miss Grove greatly appreciates and promotes a message that she learned from one of her mentors: "What we're doing here is important. We know you can do it. We're not giving up on anyone." On a daily basis, she shares this message with our students as she follows her mission:
"My mission as Project Pride Coordinator is to help improve our students' chances for success in school and in life by making connections; collaborating with all stakeholders; maximizing the provision of support and opportunities; and reaching out to the Red Lion Area Community to build lasting partnerships."
